Frequently Asked Questions

  • Out-of-network physical therapy offers direct payment at the time of service, bypassing your health insurance. This ensures that you receive higher quality of care with more 1-on-1 attention and personalized treatment from your physical therapist. You have the flexibility to address multiple health and wellness concerns without insurance dictating the number of sessions you receive, how long you can receive physical therapy services, and what treatments they will reimburse. This approach often results in quicker recovery and lower long-term costs for you.

  • Out-of-network physical therapy offers several benefits, including more one-on-one time with your physical therapist, specialized treatment that allows you to get better faster, no limit on the number of treatment sessions that you can receive, and no restraints on the type of treatments that can be provided. Clients that choose out-of-network physical therapy have better outcomes and typically pay less overall compared to a traditional, insurance-based physical therapy plan of care.

  • Imagine you need two months of physical therapy for a knee injury. You have a $1,600 insurance deductible with a $25 co-pay and 20% co-insurance.

With a cash-based physical therapy package at Nordic Performance, you would pay $109 per session for 8 sessions, totaling $872.

In the insurance-based model, a physical therapy session may cost $175 with a co-pay of $25 each visit. You would be responsible for $200 every session until your $1600 deductible is met (co-pays do not count toward your deductible). Once the deductible would be met, you are still responsible for 20% of the session cost through your co-insurance in addition to your $25 co-pay ($60 every visit). In this example, 8 sessions of physical therapy at an in-network clinic would cost you $1,600.
